Brother Robert Davidson Gets on the Bus On Saturday, 16 August, Brother Keith Stephens again assembled the Craftsmen in the Home Depot parking lot. The Brothers of East Fork Lodge banded together and delivered a total of 40 pints of blood for Carter Blood Care. Earlier this year, East Fork Lodge conducted its Annual Blood Drive. A few months ago, Carter Blood Care contacted Brother Stephens with an urgent request. The Blood Bank typically runs low in the summer time. This year however, the slowdown had happened much earlier than expected. As such, they were in dire need of blood. Carter Blood Care asked if East Fork Lodge would be able to conduct a second blood drive this year. The brothers of East Fork Lodge started making some phone calls. We told Carter Blood Care that we should be able to get 34 people to show up, with 27 being able to donate. While we didn't get a lot of advance reserviations, we had 40 people show up, and 38 were able to donate. Since two people went through the apheresis process, we were credited with 40 pints of blood, 141% beyond our forecast, and our best showing to date! Cliff Smith was on hand with his camera, and he took a few pictures. You can check out the gallery, here . Congratulations to the brothers that helped maintain a critical supply of blood for our hospitals.
