Anita Collins!
Community Builder Award Recipient - Anita Collins
Members of East Fork Masonic Lodge in Wylie presented local bank executive Anita Collins with their Community Builder Award at their July meeting. Established in 1991 by the Grand Lodge of Texas, the award is the highest award an individual lodge can present to non-Masons. Lodges are encouraged to seek out the men and women who, year in and year out, quietly and without fanfare, show their devotion to their community and its people without the expectation of awards or honors. It is to recognize individuals who, although they have never been initiated into Masonry, have followed the same precepts, ideals and standards that have been established for Masonic behavior.
Anita is a graduate of Wylie High School and Graduate School at SMU. She is married to her high school sweetheart Bill, who is President of Collins Propane, and Lodge supporter. They have 2 daughters, 1 son and a granddaughter.
She began her banking career in 1982 as a Lending Assistant at First State Bank in Wylie. From 1984 to 2003 she was Executive Vice President of Commercial and Real Estate Lending at First National Bank of Sachse. From 2003 to the present she is Market President of Sachse and Wylie for American National Bank.
Listed among her community involvement was the following:
- Collin County Community College Foundation Board Member
- Member of Garland Chamber of Commerce
- Member of Sachse Chamber of Commerce
- Past Board member of Wylie Chamber of Commerce and current Ambassador
- Wylie Sports Hall of Fame Board Member
- Wylie ISD Education Foundation Advisory Member
- Independent Bankers Association of Texas Leadership Board Member
- Member of Rotary Club
- Sachse Citizens Police Academy
Anita has been previously honored by other organizations:
- Wylie Chamber of Commerce – Ambassador of the year 2000
- American National Bank – Chairman’s Award/Market Development 2004
Several members and guests spoke of their first hand knowledge of Anita's friendliness how she had mentored others, helping start and grow their business into a success. It was also noted how she had tirelessly worked and researched grants for military families who had been called into active duty, so that they would not default on loans and home mortgages.
Our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Anita Collins for making a significant contribution to our community.
